Hello 2019

Dear bloggers,

Today is my last creative blogpost for 2018 at the Gummianpan site. I want to thank you all for the nice comments and the warm and positive vibes, I trully enjoyed being a part of the Gummiapan family. My last creation is one that welcomes the new year. I hope it will bring lots of love, joy, laughter and good health for everyone. Cheers!

The first card I made is a New Year card? I used a wonderfull backgroundpaper (snow) to start with, and I gave it extra dimension with some glosy modeling paste and a stencil. Ofcourse it needed ink ;-) I also did some backgroundstamping but not much, I wanted the text (made with dies) to be the focus. I framed my card with the Stitched pattern die. Here are some pictures of the proces:

I think everyone in the DT- team is in the tag making mood 😀 I also made some tags to add to my Christmas presents. I made one with the reindeer, a gift and ofcourse, a wish angel...

Everyone, I wish you warm  Christmas days and an mind blowing good start of the New Year!
Lots of Love, Carmen

Christmas is getting closer...

Dear bloggers,

Are you guys running out of time to? 2018 is almost over, unbelievable... So yes, we all have to participate the hectic days and make Christmas cards for family and friends. I usually make a few cards and then start with mass production, haha... Here are some examples.

The first card is a 'traditional' distress ink card. I started with heat embossing some stars on my background. Then I added my color with inks.I used a stamp around my focal image, wich is a die that I aplied with some 3D foam. To finish it of, I used a sentiment in Dutch saying 'merry christmas'. Here are some step by step pictures:

The second card is more a mixed media style card. I don't know why, but I wanted to work with ripped paper so I dugg in my Gummiapan paper stash. I found some nice blue papers and to stay in the theme, I took the paper with a star design. I wanted to combine it with inks (DUH!) so I heat embossed the background again. Then I added the pattern paper in combination with some stamped stars, some I glued flatt and some with 3D foam to create dimension. Then again I applied some inks to make it all come together. To finish it off I made a border around my card, added some splatters and a wonderfull sentiment, perfect for the time of the year. Again, some pictures:

I hope I got you inspired!
I wish you guys a wonderfull Christmas period...
Lots of Love,
Carmen

Autumn colors

Hi ladies!

Today I was inspired by all the beautiful autumn colors from nature... Oh how I love a walk in the forest these days, and when the sunlight hits the leaves... I just love it!
Here we go!

The background of my cards was made with distress inks, that I applied with a brayer. I used the same technique on both cards.
After creating my background, it was time to stamp...

My cards looked a bith 'bold' with only the stamps in the background, so I also framed my cards by stamping all the way around my card. To give them that extra autumn feeling, I splattered with gold.

Oh, you see the little jar is a bit shiny... I used glossy accents on it so it looks like real glass, cool he!

Here are my finished, autumn inspired cards...

I hope you got inspired!
Enjoy the last rays of sunshine!
Greets,
DT Carmen

you're a STAR

Hi bloggers!

Oh daily life, how stressful can you be :-)
Me and my coleagues are looking forward to a well earned week of holidays!
To give them that extra push, I wanted to make a card for them. But you know a crafters brain, way to much ideas! So I first did a try-out in my small art journal. Here's what I did...

I first applied some structure paste true a stencil. After that, I gave my page some color with distress paint. I used blue tints and a little bit of silver.

Next step, background stamping, of course! I used the  frayed text stamp and the frayed small stars.
Next I played with my layout. I wanted to tell my colleagues that they are starts, so that's what I did...
I used the big-frayed-star stamp and the youre-a-star text stamp.

This is the final spread in my art journal, which I'll use as an example for my card.

 I hope you are inspired!
And maybe something you can do... tell the people close around you they are stars ;-)
Greetings,
DT Carmen

Craft cards

Hi ladies!

Time for some crafty inspiration from Belgium again :-)
How are you all doing? Getting used to the colder weather? Ugh, I already miss summer!
But okay, rainy days are perfect for crafting so that's what I did! I'll show you...

Okay, you may be surprised... I didn't use distress inks on my cards! I love the craft paper from Gummiapan so I kept it clean and simple. I really love the color of craft paper in combination with black and white, so that's what I used.

First, I gave the craft base a little bit of white by brushing on some gesso. And to add extra intrest, I also added some splatters with a fan brush. My favorite tool to splatter!

After my base was finished, I did some background stamping. I used a neutral color that almost blended in my crafty background. And for my focal image, I used some white die cuts. I needed inspiration, so I made a lot of them!! Look hem yummy...

To finish off the cards I did some stamping in black, made some more splatters and I used some twine to keep the natural look going. And here they are, hope you like them!

 Untill next time!
Greetings
DT Carmen

Mom's birthday!

Hello everyone!

Yesterday was my moms birthday so of course I had to give her some handmade cards!
I'm not going to chit chat today, let's just get started!

My first card was made in my mom's favorit colors, pink, yellow and orange. Look at those yummy drops of distress ink... LOVE! After the first layer of color, I also stenciled on some ink.

After all that inking, it's time for some stamping! Again, I used those pritty flowers. I wouldn't know what to do without them! I colored them with dylusions and I also added some background stamping.

To finish off my card I used a Dutch sentiment that says 'congratulations'. Some ink around the boarder and some black and white splashes et voila, the first card is ready!

Here you can see the same steps (inking up my background) with other colors for the second card.

Same old story, after inking up the background, I did some background stamping. The sentiment on the card is a combination of 3 but I thought it was funny :-) Translated it's somethink like: hooray, a big hug gift card! Haha, 'cause I never know what to buy my mom so now we just go shopping together and I buy her something that she wants :-)

I did made a third card to put on her flowers but I ended up making a new one because I stamped my text a bit blurry - oops -.

I hope you got inspired!
Until next time!

DT Carmen
