Carousel

Hi everybody!

I don't know if you have seen this before. If not, it is really fun to make! If you have, make one more!!!

Make What?

A Carousel of course
with a Octagon box!

------------------------------

Hej allihopa!

Of course you'll get a tutorial, but first I'll tell you what I used to make this pink dream.
Stamps: Bamse

Dies: Enhörning

For colouring I used Polychromos.
Stickles silver to get some glitter.

-------------------------------

Small banners

Färgläggning Polychromos
Stickles silver för att få lite glitter.

And I made a card to go with the carousel:

This is what I used:

Stamps: New Baby Girl
and
Stickles silver.

Detta använde jag:

Stämplar: New Baby Girl
och
Stickles silver.

Here comes the tutorial!

I started with the Octagon box.
Cut out all parts in cardstock:
2 pieces box bottom
2 pieces box lid
2 pieces bottom sides
2 pieces lid sides

Patterned paper to decorate the box:
8 pieces measuring 5,5 x 3,5 cm, the bottom sides
8 pieces measuring 3,9 x 3,7 cm, the lid sides
1 piece to the lid, I used the same size as the box bottom. You can make it any size that you want.
Decorate all sides with patterned paper before glueing them together.
Glue the bottom sides together. Score the tabs & lines, so that you get a octagon. I found it easier to glue the sides so that they made a circle, fold the tabs into the circle and push the box bottom octagon to the tabs. Then I turned it upside down and attached the other box bottom.
(You don't have to to do this last thing, but I think it looks nicer that way.

Do the same with the lid. But, don't put the patterned octagon box lid on yet.

------------------------------

Här kommer en beskrivning!

Jag började med Octagon box.

TEMPLATE

Skär ut alla delar i cardstock:
2 delar box botten (bottom)
2 delar box lock (lid)
2 delar botten sidor (bottom sides)
2 delar lock sidor (lid sides)

Mönstrat papper att dekorera boxen med:
8 delar 5,5 x 3,5 cm, bottens sidor
8 delar 3,9 x 3,7 cm, lockets sidor
Limma ihop bottens sidor.

The roof:
Taket:

I made a circle 18cm diameter, cut out and made a cone.
Don't forget to make a tab, so you don't have to overlap.
You can make your cone in any size depending how much you cut out!

To make the roof look even nicer I used Scalloped Diagonal Border.
Measure how long the border has to be. I cut out 4 stripes 15 x 4 cm then run them through my
Big shot. Then I scored & folded 1 cm from the straight side. Cut tabs so that you can glue the border inside the roof.

------------------------------

The pole:
Make the pole from either cardstock or heavy patterned paper.
You can make it how long or wide as you prefer.
Glue the paper so that you get a pole, cut out tabs in both ends of the pole about 1 cm.

Now it's time to attach the pole at the box lid and the roof.

Take the octagon box lid (patterned paper), cut a hole that the pole fits in.
A tip:  I used a circle die: Stitched circles
Put the end of the pole through the hole, fold out the tabs and put glue on them and attach with the octagon box lid (patterned paper) and then on the box lid.

------------------------------

Fold out the tabs on the other end of the pole, put glue on them and attach the pole with the roof.

I used a painted toothpick on top of the roof with a Small banner.

------------------------------

-----------------------------

I think you have a Carousel now!
But no animals yet...

I choose to fasten them onto overhead plastic and fasten them inside the roof.

----------------------------

Jag tror du har en karusell nu!
Men inga djur ännu...

I hope that you understand what I mean, if not...please ask!

Enjoy your scrapping!

---------------------------------
